Upcoming Meeting

Crystal Forms@Bologna

7th CF@Bo  9 June - 11 June 2013 - Bologna - Italy
Multiple Crystal Forms: Sword of Damocles or opportunity for the pharma industry?

A three-day convention is organized in Bologna by the group of Molecular Crystal Engineering (Prof. Dario Braga - University of Bologna) and by the spinoff company PolyCrystalLine s.r.l.

The meeting has multiple goals. The state of the art in the preparation, screening and characterization of cystal forms (polymorphs, hydrates, co-crystals, salts, amorphous etc.) will be discussed. We will tackle formulation applications and protocols, and structure-property relationships and will also compare views and experiences on patenting and intellectual property issues.

Special emphasis will be given to the innovation potentials inherent to the search for new or improved properties of molecular based materials.

As in the past occasions, the meeting will be an open forum where scientists from academia and industry, and young researchers and PhD students, will have the opportunity to present their results also as posters and discuss in a friendly atmosphere.

For this special edition of the convention two locations have been selected. The meeting will open on Sunday 9 June in the Aula Magna of the Chemistry Department of the University of Bologna where registration and the first series of lectures will be delivered followed by a special reception. On Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 the convention will continue in the meeting room of the Hotel Europa http://www.zanhotel.it/eng/hotels/Europa .

The Hotel Europa, where most participants and speakers will also be hosted, is very close to the railway station, connected by bus to the airport, and at walking distance from town centre and the University.

As in the past, there will be a small registration fee (smaller for academia and students, waived to speakers from academia).

Speakers and attendants will have to sustain their own travel and accommodation expenses - please see
